Dr. Christian Böcker

Dr. Christian Böcker practices as attorney at law since 1999. His main areas are civil and commercial law, especially distribution and agency, unfair competition, international sale of goods, labour law and arbitration. Previous to 1999, he spent several years of investigation and teaching as Senior Lecturer in Law of the faculty of Law of the University of Mainz (including research at the faculties of Law of the University of Valencia and Innsbruck).

He has written numerous publications on arbitration and distribution subjects, amongst others: "Das neue Recht der objektiven Schiedsfähigkeit - Deutschland, Österreich, Spanien" ("The reform of the law of objective arbitrability ­ Germany, Austria, Spain"), Aachen, 1998, "Schiedsverfahrensrecht in Spanien - ein Überblick" ("Introduction to Spanish arbitration law"), SchiedsVZ 2003, 170 ff., note on the resolution of the Federal High Court of 2 November 2000, EWiR 2001, 345, note on the resolution of the Federal High Court of 16 February 2000, EWiR 2000, 454 f. as well as note on the resolution of the Federal High Court of 17 July 1999, EWiR 1999, 1191 f.

Dr. Böcker is especially experienced in German-Spanish arbitration procedures. Pursuant to his successful exam of adaptation before the Spanish Ministry of Justice, Dr. Böcker is admitted to the bars in Spain and consults in Spanish law. French law is another area of interest of Dr. Böcker, who in 1989 obtained the French university degree in law, the Maîtrise en Droit. He is a member of the German-Spanish Association of Lawyers, of the Frankfurt circle of the DIS 40 (German Institution for Arbitration), of the German Lawyers Association and the Mannheim Lawyers Association. He practices in German, Spanish, English, French and Italian.

Dr. Böcker is a passionate skier and prefers to spend his free time, even in summer, in the mountains.
